2015 Bay Roan Mare
Return to Previous Page

Born 8-12-15. ‘Fin’ has two rear half stockings a great big star on her head and a snip. This was the first foal out of this pairing and boy are we impressed!  We had a Swedish exchange student living with us and Fin is a Swedish word for ‘fancy’ and not only is she a fancy looking roan filly but it is in her dam’s name. Fancy Roan Belle is an awesome, proven 87% NFQHA proven mare who is a very integral part of our program.  She has one stallion standing at stud; we are riding her 2004 bay roan daughter, Docs Fancy Roan; have retained her 2008 strawberry roan daughter, Peponita Roan Bar JW and 2011 and 2018 granddaughters, Paddys Gin Fanta JW aka Fanta and Miss Two ID Peponita aka Salty for our program. Fanta had a successful show season in 2014  and 2015 in reining and reined cowhorse winning some money and getting her Certificate of Ability. Let’s look at the mare’s pedigree deep in Reeves breeding from South Dakota--Fancy Roan Bar, Roan Bar, Bell Boy Bar, Tom Baker, Bar Nothing Springer and Bartender. You cannot ask for a better foundation, ranch, cow, or arena bloodline. This mare puts a very nice disposition on her foals. Fin was her 14th foal and she produced just one more. This was a proven mare and a proven mare line for us.

‘Whoop’ is a 2010 son of Paddys Irish Whiskey and out of a great John Scott mare, My Little Sugar Babe. The Paddys Irish Whiskey horses are making a name for themselves in everything from cutting to cowhorse events to roping horses and are very versatile. A key difference between Whoop Up Whiskey and our other PIW son, TRR Paddys Texas Gin, is the dam pedigree. While both dams go back to Doc O Lena, Whoop’s goes to Doc O Dynamite who also stood at the John Scott Ranch. Doc O Dynamite was an Equi-State leading cutting sire from 1999-2005 who produced money earners and according to his performance record, his daughters have produced many money earning foals in AQHA, NCHA, NRHA and NRCHA. Doc O Dynamite has a pedigree that traces back to Three Bars giving a bit more stretch and speed to his offspring and shows up on the pedigree of many arena and speed event horses. Whoop brings that little more height and length and speed to our program as compared to TRR Paddys Texas Gin. He has excellent bone, athleticism and conformation. His lineage tells us that his offspring will have cow and will be capable of performing at any level.

Fin was successfully started under saddle and proved her trainability and good nature.  We are pretty proud of this young mare. We purchased Jacks Our Bartender to breed to our Paddys Irish Whiskey daughters and granddaughters.  Fin is one of three granddaughters that we bred to him for a 2019 baby. We are very glad we did, because her dam, Fancy Roan Belle, has been retired and will no longer be producing babies. Her 2019 foal is a fancy bay roan stallion, Khan Bartender JW. She had the year off and was bred to Jack again for a 2021 bay roan stallion, Cypress Bartender JW. She was exposed the same way and had a very nice red roan filly, Orca Bartender JW. We are pleased with this cross, so she had another Jack baby for 2023, Larimar Bartender JW
