“Shadow” is a black gelded son of JK Jay Reed. We have had him since he was a baby. We can’t say enough good things about this good young gelding. He’s honest and kid gentle already. He was started spring 2008, has a lot to learn and is far from solid broke, but he is well on his way to being a top notch athlete. You can see in these pictures that he’s got a lot of filling out to do, but the frame work is there. Shadow has had the opportunity to get behind some cattle and be ridden in the hills. He has a very laid back manner with evidence of manageable speed. We will continue to develop him as a ranch horse that can also go to the arena and he will get the chance to show us where his speed talents lay in the future.
Shadow’s mother, Frosty Banjoe, is owned by Barbra Kennedy Johnson. We ride a nice palomino brother to Frosty Banjoe. Frosty Banjoe goes back to Zan Parr Bar on the top and to Alamitos Bar on the bottom. We hope to get her bred back to JK Jay Reed for a 2010 foal.
Starting in 2009, we are offering foals sired by Shadow’s sire, JK Jay Reed aka Pine Cone. Shadow and Pine Cone’s other offspring are easy going. If they can all be like that, everyone will be proud to have one. We will continue to update this page as Shadow continues to prove his way and that of his sire. He is not for sale.
