2026 Bay/Buckskin Stallion
Return to Previous Page

Born 5-18-26 Some years we do a fun theme for names. This year for Top Gun Whiskey we are continuing with Top Gun Call Signs from the original 1986 movie and the 2022 movie. Our other stallions will have the names of Rock Bands from the 70s, 80s and 90s. This colt is named Stones as in The Rolling Stones. The Rolling Stones are an English rock band formed in London in 1962. Active for over six decades, they are one of the most popular, influential, and enduring bands of the rock era. Some of their most famous songs are “I Can’t Get No Satisfaction” “Angie” and “Start Me Up”.

‘Stones’ is a bay/buckskin stallion with a white blaze, left rear white stocking. This is a big and strong colt. His dam is Sapa Hula Drift JW. Hula has excellent conformation, and we are pleased with her as our first Walter O Rielly daughter that we retained.  She is a Smoky Black and as a broodmare in our program she can produce buckskins, palominos or perhaps other smoky blacks.  She was started under saddle and showed us that she is trainable.  She is friendly and catchable about anywhere. Hula’s sire, Walter O Rielly, is 90.234% NFQHA bred perlino stallion that goes to King P-234 ten times, to Driftwood four times with strong doses of Joe Reed, Three Bars and a little Doc. Radar made some really nice big horses over the many years we owned him. We have kept several of his daughters back to cross with some of our more moderate sized stallions. Hula is out of a past mare, Little Sapa. Take a good look at the speed pedigree on Hula’s bottom side. According to Circle Dot Horses, Mia Cash Too was a gentle, AAA Stakes Place Winner with a nice disposition who ran the 3rd fastest qualifying time in the All-American Derby. Mia Cash Too sired foals that went on to be racehorses, barrel horses, arena horses and also had plenty of cow.  Little Sapa leaves Dash For Cash on Hula’s papers and also give her Three Bars and Jet Deck through both Easy Jet and Jet Smooth. Her first foal in 2017, Paddys Gin Rafiki JW went to be in KY. Her 2019 foal, Paddys Gin Sahara JW  headed to Illinois.  Her 2020 foal, Paddys Gin Odessa JW, was also by Tex and is now in OK. We switched gears in 2021 and she had her first foal by Top Gun Whiskey, Top Gun Spruce JW, that is now MS. Here 2023 foal, Top Gun Onyx JW was a very pretty brown filly that sold. Her 2024 foal unfortunately died soon after birth and due to a cold wet May snow event we also lost her 2025 foal. We are excited to get another live foal from Hula again as she makes very nice babies! She does an excellent job regardless of which of our PIW sons we pair her with.

His sire is TRR Paddys Texas Gin. This is Tex’s 18th foal crop. He puts very thick and muscular foals on the ground with very nice muscle expression on them as well as a lot of athleticism and as they develop, they have a lot of vigor. The oldest ones have been started under saddle by various buyers and we are hearing good things from all of them. The Paddys Irish Whiskey horses are making a name for themselves in everything from cutting to cowhorse events to roping horses and are very versatile—Tanquery Gin, Doc O’Lena, Docs Starlight, Poco Tivio, Peppy San Badger. His daughters, when bred to current barrel stallions are producing 1D and 2D barrel horses with other owners.

We would expect Stones to be nice and stout and to have athletic ability with a nice disposition to perform in or out of the arena. We would expect him to mature out to 14.2-14.3 hands. Tex is his sire so he could be 50/50 HERDA Carrier so Stones will be tested.

Will be priced at one month of age (US)

Foal is eligible for the Iowa Quarter Horse Association Ranch Horse Futurity.

2026 PRICING INCLUDES: Halter/lead rope, negative coggins, health, brand inspection, initial and booster vaccinations of EWT-Flu-Rhino, 1 bag of his current feed, AQHA transfer fee paid and halter training.
