Born 8-5-23. Some years we do a fun theme for names. This year we decided to go with Geology and things that come from the ground.  Many of these names are a little loose in thoughts regarding if they are elements, minerals, rocks, gemstones or colors etc. Peridot sometimes called chrysolite, is a yellowish-green transparent variety of olivine. Peridot is one of the few gemstones that occur in only one color. Peridot can be found in mafic and ultramafic rocks occurring in lava and peridotite xenoliths of the mantle.

‘Peridot’ is a buckskin/buckskin roan stallion with four white pasterns. Peridot’s dam is Paddys Gin Dakota JW aka Scotch. She was one of our very first TRR Paddy Texas Gin fillies and was born in 2010. She is a daughter of Mujer Lady Dial JW and carries back the blood of the Grantier Quarter Horses. We sold her in 2010 and she was owned by a couple other people, before eventually making her way back to us. She is owned by us with Mack and Nicole Hoerner. She foaled a JK Jay Reed foal in 2017 for them and then took the year off. Her 2019 filly, Ting Bartender JW, we have retained as a prospect. Her 2020 foal, Frisco Bartender JW stayed in ND. Her 2021 foal, Cedar Bartender JW, stayed in ND as well. Her 2022 foal, Reef Bartender JW, went with repeat buyers in TX.  

Peridot’s sire is Jacks Our Bartender a son of Bartenders Memory by Two ID Bartender and out of a granddaughter of Two Eyed Jack, Watch Miss Jo Jackie, born in 2003. Unfortunately, due to a stifle injury from being kicked by a mare, Jack was not able to stay sound enough to enter the show ring but was able to prove his athletic ability.  Since then several of his colts have ended up in the roping arena and continue to prove their athleticism and great minds.  By 2015 Hockenson’s realized that he was producing some really great roping horses and decided to see if they could keep his stifle sound enough to show and sure enough in a very short time, he quickly earned 5.5 AQHA Heading Points of his own proving that his offspring accomplishments were not by chance. He is a great horse to be around and out produces himself every time. Jack has 3 AQHA performing offspring. Many of his other foals have gone on to be great rodeo horses or rope horses competing and earning money in different associations.

Peridot should have the size and has the pedigree to make a nice rope horse prospect or ranch horse deluxe. We are very excited about her and expect great things!

This is a $300+ value included in the price. Repeat and multiple horse buyers will be less.  If you are not already an AQHA member, you may get your own membership, or we will assess you an additional $65 one year membership fee in order to do the transfer for your new purchase which is $40.
