Thanks Cale!

Born 5-19-23. Some years we do a fun theme for names. This year we decided to go with Geology and things that come from the ground.  Many of these names are a little loose in thoughts regarding if they are elements, minerals, rocks, gemstones or colors etc.  Jade is a hard, typically green stone used for ornaments and implements and consisting of the minerals jadeite or nephrite.

‘Jade’ is a solid bay colt with no markings. He is the first foal for his dam Ms Boon Topaz. Her dam, Boon Fever, is an own daughter of Boon San out of a Playboys Buck Fever daughter and we love that Shot O Gin who is a full brother to Tanquery Gin down there on the bottom representing solid 6666’s breeding. Topaz’s sire is Jesses Topaz a 2011 buckskin stallion sired by AQHA Racing Champion Mr Jess Perry SI 113 owned by the 6666s. Topaz was the 2nd  pairing from this cross. We also kept back her younger full sister. We are excited to have these pair of sisters in our program. Both were kept with the intention of becoming broodmares for us. So far Topaz is off to a good start in this journey.

Jade’s sire is Whoop Up Whiskey . ‘Whoop’ is a 2010 son of Paddys Irish Whiskey and out of a great John Scott mare, My Little Sugar Babe. This is his 10th foal crop. The Paddys Irish Whiskey horses are making a name for themselves in everything from cutting to cowhorse events to roping horses and are very versatile.  A key difference between Whoop Up Whiskey and our other PIW sons is the dam pedigree. Whoop’s dam goes to Doc O Dynamite who also stood at the John Scott Ranch. Doc O Dynamite was an Equi-State leading cutting sire from 1999-2005 who produced money earners and according to his performance record, his daughters have produced many money earning foals in AQHA, NCHA, NRHA and NRCHA. Doc O Dynamite has a pedigree that traces back to Three Bars giving a bit more stretch and speed to his offspring and shows up on the pedigree of many arena and speed event horses. Whoop Up Whiskey aka Whoop brings that little more height and length and speed to our program as. He has excellent bone, athleticism and conformation. His lineage tells us that his offspring will have cow and will be capable of performing at any level. Whoop’s foals are breaking out really kind and level headed.

Jade should be a nice all-around prospect with a lot of style. He will be able to excel in the arena or on the ranch as well. We are seeing a lot of that style and grace in these Whoop babies.

“Don’t miss a chance to COWBOY UP with a WHISKEY UP foal!”
