Mr Salty Peponita was a son of Peponita and grandson of Peppy San. This bloodline is well known to cutters, reiners and ranchers and the influence of this family of horses on the cutting horse industry is phenomenal and far reaching.
According to Western Horseman Legends 6, Peppy San was the first NCHA World Champion to also sire a World Champion-Peponita. At the time of print, in the 55 year history of the National Cutting Horse Association this accomplishment was only repeated when Peppy San’s NCHA World champion brother, Mr San Peppy, sired a World Champion--Peppy San Badger. Peppy San also sired Smart Peppy who went on to become the dam of the great Smart Little Lena.
Peponita has an impressive list of achievements within the NCHA and the AQHA as well as the achievements of the foals he sired. You may view Peponita’s Performance Summary Record and Mr Salty Peponita’s Show Performance Pedigree.

She qualified for the AQHA World Finals in 1993, 1994 (8th amateur pole bending) and 1995. She has amateur open performance ROMs, 33.5 open points and 85.5 amateur points in barrels and poles.
Mr Salty Peponita is also the sire of Miss Peponita Yogi, the 2001 North Dakota State Reining Champion and the 2002 North Dakota State Reserve Reining Champion.
He was owned most recently by Pat and Marcy Roehrich of Washburn, North Dakota at Double R Quarter Horse Ranch. We were fortunate to have six mares bred to him for 2008 resulting in two colts and four fillies. Three of those fillies will be worked into our breeding program as they mature and prove themselves----Peponita Laceyed JW, Peponita Roan Bar JW and Peponita Stareyed JW.
We thank the Roehrichs for some of this information and you may view their website or contact them at www.doublerquarterhorses.com.
