Thanks Thomas Family!

Born 5-20-17. Some years we do a fun theme for names.  This year we decided to go with names of characters from The Lion King Movie from 1994.  Some of the characters will be more well known than others and some names are from the sequel movies. This colt is called Zazu after the funny busy body red-billed hornbill who is uptight and dignified and served as Mufasa’s and Simba’s majordomo.

‘Zazu’ has a star, snip and matching rear ankles.  We cannot express how excited we are for this second stud colt to join us here on the ranch!  His mama, Charjody, is a gorgeous 84% NFQHA double bred Two Eyed Jack mare with him still on her papers. She also goes back to Babe Cody by Bill Cody. We have already retained her 2008 daughter, Peponita Stareyed JW aka Bubbles, for our program. Bubbles is one of the ranch’s main saddle horses who also produced her first foal in 2015. Bubbles has such an awesome disposition and a lot of cow to her. In between 2008 and 2015 Charjody has produced some fantastic foals with whatever stallion we put her with and we have one buyer who has 4 of her offspring. Charjody’s other foals for us have been 2010, Charmander Reed JW, 2011, Charizard Reed JW, and 2014 Char B Reed JW; all full brothers and 2012 maternal sister, Paddys Gin Tookie JW, who are all four in North Carolina with the same buyer. Charjody’s 2013 stud colt, Paddys Gin Jig JW, is in Utah as an all-around ranch horse prospect and now a sire himself. Her 2015 filly, Cider Drift JW, is in Arizona and 2016 stud colt, Whiskey Up Boss JW, is in Virginia.

This is Charjody’s second foal with Whoop Up Whiskey. ‘Whoop’ is a 2010 son of Paddys Irish Whiskey and out of a great John Scott mare, My Little Sugar Babe. The Paddys Irish Whiskey horses are making a name for themselves in everything from cutting to cowhorse events to roping horses and are very versatile.  A key difference between Whoop Up Whiskey and our other PIW son, TRR Paddys Texas Gin, is the dam pedigree. While both dams go back to Doc O Lena, Whoop’s goes to Doc O Dynamite who also stood at the John Scott Ranch. Doc O Dynamite was an Equi-State leading cutting sire from 1999-2005 who produced money earners and according to his performance record, his daughters have produced many money earning foals in AQHA, NCHA, NRHA and NRCHA. Doc O Dynamite has a pedigree that traces back to Three Bars giving a bit more stretch and speed to his offspring and shows up on the pedigree of many arena and speed event horses. Whoop Up Whiskey aka Whoop brings that little more height and length and speed to our program as compared to TRR Paddys Texas Gin. He has excellent bone, athleticism and conformation. His lineage tells us that his offspring will have cow and will be capable of performing at any level

Zazu should have the disposition and moves to go any direction desired. We were very satisfied with his 2016 full brother.  He will be for sale.
