Born 4-27-16. Some years we do a fun theme for names. This year we decided to go with American Made Muscle Cars from the 50s, 60s and 70s. We have had some fun researching them. This filly is named after the 1970 Oldsmobile Rallye 350.
‘Rallye’ is a sorrel filly with a classic star, strip and snip. She is the first foal from this dam. Her dam, Lily Dancer Reed JW aka Dancer, is one of our own JK Jay Reed aka Pine Cone daughters that we have exposed to TRR PaddysTexas Gin aka Tex. This is quite the epitome of our program to put Tex back on a Pine Cone daughter. We are blending these two families Pine Cone and Tex. Dancer’s mother is one of our Mujer Tacky Jay daughters and is really impressing us with the quality of foals she’s producing for us. There are a lot of great horses in Dancer’s pedigree from Jet Deck and Leo Tag just off her papers to other greats Three Bars, Poco Bueno and old time horses like Old Sorrel. Dancer goes back to King P-234 a combined 15 times!! We really believe in these well established horse families and in Dancer’s mare line as she is so closely bred to many of our great saddle horses.
Rallye’s sire is TRR Paddys Texas Gin aka Tex. This is Tex’s eighth foal crop. He puts very thick and muscular foals on the ground with very nice muscle expression on them as well as a lot of athleticism and as they develop they have a lot of vigor. The oldest ones have been started under saddle by various buyers and we are hearing good things from all of them. The Paddys Irish Whiskey horses are making a name for themselves in everything from cutting to cowhorse events to roping horses and are very versatile—Tanquery Gin, Doc O’Lena, Docs Starlight, Poco Tivio, Peppy San Badger. We are very pleased with Rallye being the first foal from this mare. She should have athletic ability, but will be a bit taller than the normal ‘Tex’ foals. She will be for sale. Rallye has a lower introductory price due to being out of a first time mama. We are very happy with how she is doing so far!
UPDATE 2-5-17. Rallye is just sweetest thing ever! Her mama did a bang up job as a first time mama and they were both great to work with through halter breaking. Rallye is gentle, light in leading and would make a good youth option horse. She is really filling out and is very stout.
