Born 5-14-14. King is a palomino stud colt with a huge blaze face and possible two rear white feet. He is the first foal from this pairing and the first stallion from his dam. King is a lot of firsts and we are very pleased and excited to see how he matures. His mother is one of our Mujer Tacky Jay daughters and is really impressing us with the quality of foals she’s producing for us. Mujer Lily Dancer JW aka Lily is 84% NFQHA and was purchased from Grantier Quarter Horses as a weanling. Mujer Tacky Jay, now deceased, made a name for himself producing using horses for the family, ranch, arena and youth. There are a lot of great horses in Lily’s pedigree from Jet Deck and Leo Tag just off her papers to other greats Three Bars, Poco Bueno and old time horses like Old Sorrel. Lily also fantastically goes back to King 9 times! We really believe in these well established horse families and in Lily’s mare line as she is so closely bred to many of our great saddle horses. She has produced three previous foals all by our stallion, JK Jay Reed. 2011 Princess Leia Reed JW has joined a breeder in Texas. 2012 beautiful black filly Lily Dancer Reed JW is still here at the ranch with us as a broodmare prospect. 2013 gorgeous black filly Jitterbug Reed JW is still for sale.
King’s sire, Walter O Rielly aka Radar, is new to our program and this is his second foal crop for us. We were looking for a foundation Driftwood bred stallion to hopefully get some replacement fillies out of some of our better mares. Radar is a 90.234% foundation bred perlino stallion that goes to King P-234 ten times, to Driftwood four times with strong doses of Joe Reed, Three Bars and a little Doc Bar. Radar is a 16 hand horse with a huge stride and a gentle personality. We are very pleased with this colt. King is going to have some speed and stride and be able to cover ground. Don’t forget that King goes back to King P-234 a combined 19 times!! Both dam and sire are HERDA N/N so he is also N/N. He looks to be able to be a ranchers delight, roper, or even a good barrel prospect and is 87% foundation eligible with the NFQHA. King will be for sale.
UPDATE 5-18-15 King has developed into a powerful and solid built colt. He is heading to Tennessee with Liz who has previously purchased about 10 horses from us over the years. She will develop him as a heading horse. We can't wait to see what his future brings.
