Rose, sometimes called Speckles due to her speckled stockings, is a very kind, quiet mare and passes that on to her foals. Her paternal grandsire was Docs Flying Bar and he stood at Texas A&M University. Through him, she still has Doc Bar on her papers and Jet Smooth and Mr San Peppy just off her papers. Her bottomside may not have great names close up, but she is still a very well bred mare. Her bottom goes back to Skipper W, Three Bars, Gold Mount, Ed Echols, Flying Bob, and even Man O'War to name a few. Big Sonsation was a great-grandson of King. Rose has had three foals by JK Jay Reed. 2009 bay colt, Roses King Reed JW, is now in California and started well under saddle this spring; 2010 sorrel colt, Roses Joe Reed JW, was purchased by the Schlegel Family here in ND. After time off, Rose was pasture exposed to TRR Paddys Texas Gin for a 2013 foal and had a sorrel stud colt, Paddys Gin Disco JW. This mare has passed on.
