2020 Buckskin Mare
Return to Previous Page

Born 4-25-20 “Aspen” is a buckskin filly with a big star and disconnected snip spot with no white on her feet. We have chosen two themes this year to name our foals, one is using names of Texas cities or towns and the other to continue with western names for only our Whoop foals.

Her dam, Lily Dancer Drift JW aka DD is a 88% NFQHA (F0039276) palomino mare we raised out of Mujer Lily Dancer JW one of our Mujer Tacky Jay daughters . She raised some amazing foals and we have retained three of her fillies as replacements for her. Lily is now deceased. Mujer Lily Dancer JW aka Lily was 84% NFQHA and was purchased from Grantier Quarter Horses as a weanling. Mujer Tacky Jay, now deceased, made a name for himself producing using horses for the family, ranch, arena and youth. There are a lot of great horses in Lily’s pedigree from Jet Deck and Leo Tag just off her papers to other greats Three Bars, Poco Bueno and old time horses like Old Sorrel. Lily also fantastically went back to King 9 times! We really believe in these well established horse families and in Lily’s mare line as she was so closely bred to many of our great saddle horses. DD’s sire, Walter O Rielly aka Radar. Radar is a 90.234% foundation bred perlino stallion that goes to King P-234 ten times, to Driftwood four times with strong doses of Joe Reed, Three Bars and a little Doc Bar.  Radar is a 16 hand horse with a huge stride and a gentle personality.  DD goes back to King P-234 a combined 19 times!!

Aspen is by Whoop Up Whiskey. ‘Whoop’ is a 2010 son of Paddys Irish Whiskey and out of a great John Scott mare, My Little Sugar Babe. The Paddys Irish Whiskey horses are making a name for themselves in everything from cutting to cowhorse events to roping horses and are very versatile.  A key difference between Whoop Up Whiskey and our other PIW son, TRR Paddys Texas Gin, is the dam pedigree. While both dams go back to Doc O Lena, Whoop’s goes to Doc O Dynamite who also stood at the John Scott Ranch. Doc O Dynamite was an Equi-State leading cutting sire from 1999-2005 who produced money earners and according to his performance record, his daughters have produced many money earning foals in AQHA, NCHA, NRHA and NRCHA. Doc O Dynamite has a pedigree that traces back to Three Bars giving a bit more stretch and speed to his offspring and shows up on the pedigree of many arena and speed event horses. Whoop Up Whiskey aka Whoop brings that little more height and length and speed to our program as compared to TRR Paddys Texas Gin. He has excellent bone, athleticism and conformation. His lineage tells us that his offspring will have cow and will be capable of performing at any level. Whoop’s foals are breaking out really kind and level headed.

We kept Aspen and she is now exposed to Jacks Our Bartender for a 2024 foal.
