Thanks Mitch!

Born 5/11/19 ‘Aladdin’ is a brown gelding with no white on his face and only a right rear pastern. We have chosen two movie themes this year to name our foals, one is Aladdin and the other is Mulan.  In coordination with the remake of Aladdin coming to theaters soon, we decided to name this guy, Aladdin.  Aladdin is a former street rat who fell in love with Princess Jasmine.

Aladdin’s dam, Mujer Dewey Dial JW aka Dewey, is a beautiful bay mare that is 83% NFQHA. This is her seventh foal. Dewey was purchased from Grantier Quarter Horses because her mare line is very close to several of our VERY PROVEN ranch horses. We have her older full sister, Mujer Lucy Skip JW, already in the broodmare band and doing a very nice job for us. Mujer Tacky Jay, now deceased, made a name for himself producing using horses for the family, ranch, arena and youth. We really believe in these horse families. . Dewey's first foal was a 2012 dark bay stud colt, Dewey Dial Reed JW by JK Jay Reed aka Pine Cone. She was not bred for 2013 and then produced two more by Pine Cone with 2014 bay filly, Dewey Reno Reed JW and 2015 bay stallion, Dewey Ernie Reed JW. She then had three foals with Walter O Rielly. She had 2016 buckskin filly, Caballero Drift JW who we have retained as a broodmare,  2017 buckskin stallion, Mufasa Drift JW and 2018 buckskin stallion, Mozambique Drift JW.

Dewey’s steady producing abilities made her an excellent established mare to give to Top Gun Whiskey by Paddys Irish Whiskey for his first foal crop. Top Gun Whiskey is one of four Paddys Irish Whiskey sons that we have owned. We decided to give Top Gun a shot at the show ring before breeding him. In 2016 he qualified for the AQHA World Show in Jr Reining, Jr Reining Level 2 and Jr Cowhorse Level 2; in 2017 he qualified for the AQHA World Show in Jr Cowhorse, Jr Cowhorse Level 2 and Open Heading Level 2 placing 6th.  It has been an interesting ride as he continued to show during the 2018 year as well as breed some of our mares for 2019 foals. Top Gun qualified for the 2018 World NRCHA show, was 2018 North Central Regional NRCHA Champion and has earned 46 AQHA performance points in reining, working cow horse, heading, heeling, vrh cutting, vrh reining and vrh versatility and has his AQHA Open Performance ROM.  He has continued to show in reined cowhorse in 2019 and add to his points. Check out his stallion page with us for the most up to date information as we will change it as it happens.

Dewey’s foals are just the most laid back and have the best personalities.  We are excited to see how Aladdin matures out. He should have plenty of athletic ability with a great personality to be pointed in any direction. We are very high on this foal!!! We think he will size up in that 14-3 to 15 hand range.
