Born 6-23-13. We are having a little fun by using a Dance theme for names this year. Twist is a beautiful bay/bay roan grandson of Paddys Irish Whiskey with a star and right rear ankle. He is the fourth full sibling in the pairing of TRR Paddys Texas Gin and Fancy Roan Belle and the first stallion. 2010 Paddys Gin Shasta JW is now in Oklahoma; 2011 Paddys Gin Mara JW joined a breeding program in Texas and 2012 Paddys Gin Sierra JW joined a previous buyer in Tennessee. Fancy Roan Belle is an awesome 87% NFQHA proven mare with one stallion standing at stud; we are riding her 2004 bay roan daughter, Docs Fancy Roan, have retained her 2008 dark chestnut roan daughter, Peponita Roan Bar JW and 2011 granddaughter, Paddys Gin Fanta JW for our program. Let’s look at the mare’s pedigree deep in Reeves breeding from South Dakota--Fancy Roan Bar, Roan Bar, Bell Boy Bar, Tom Baker, Bar Nothing Springer and Bartender. You cannot ask for a better foundation, ranch, cow, or arena bloodline. The mare puts a very nice disposition on her foals. Twist is her 12th foal. This is a proven mare and a proven cross. The Paddys Irish Whiskey horses are making a name for themselves in everything from cutting to cowhorse events to roping horses and are very versatile—Tanquery Gin, Doc O’Lena, Docs Starlight, Poco Tivio, Peppy San Badger. Twist is a bit later foal and will be on the mare until at least mid October. If he is anything like his siblings, he will make one heck of an excellent cowhorse athlete.
UPDATE 12-12-13. Twist is a fantastic colt as we knew he would be. He will be dark bay. Twist was very easy to halter break and was great fun to have around. He is now at his new home. We wish his new owners the best of luck with him.
