Born 5-1-19. “Jasmine” is a solid black filly with no white markings at all. We have chosen two movie themes this year to name our foals, one is Aladdin and the other is Mulan. In coordination with the remake of Aladdin coming to theaters soon, we decided to name this beautiful filly Princess Jasmine. Jasmine is the princess of Agrabah. She is an independent and rebellious young woman.
Her mama is Mujer Dusty Bar JW aka Dusty who is 83% NFQHA and was purchased from Grantier Quarter Horses because her mare line is very close to several of our VERY PROVEN ranch horses. Mujer Tacky Jay, now deceased, made a name for himself producing using horses for the family, ranch, arena and youth. There are a lot of great horses in Dusty’s pedigree from Jet Deck and Leo Tag just off her papers to other greats Three Bars, Poco Bueno and old time horses like Old Sorrel. Dusty also fantastically goes back to King 9 times! We really believe in these horse families. Dusty’s other foals have been 2010 Zanzibar Reed JW who has been broke out by a young woman in ND and now rides all over Montana and Idaho with her; 2011 Chewbacca Reed went to a ranch in Nebraska; and 2012 Dustys Ebony Reed JW is here on a ranch in ND. 2013 Paddys Gin Zumba JW went to Colorado and 2014 Paddys Gin Crissy JW joined a family in California. They were both by TRR Paddys Texas Gin. Two full brothers by Walter O Rielly are 2016 Mujer Duster DriftJW and Timon Drift JW, both here on ranches in ND. Her 2018 foal by JK Jay Reed, Venezuela Reed JW has stayed here on the ranch with us.
Jasmine’s sire is JK Jay Reed aka Pine Cone, a 96% foundation bred stallion with Poco Pine, Continental King by King P-234, Joe Reed II and Whiskey Bert all on his papers. Pine Cone has King P-234 fairly close up and goes back to him six times. Pine Cone puts a lot of ‘cow’ into his foals. Jasmine is 89.5% foundation eligible with the NFQHA and will be able to go any direction from trail to ranch horse with plenty of ‘cow’ and stoutness for roping as well. Her lines will also give you plenty of speed and she’s going to be big enough to be one of those ranch horses to go all day. We expect a very sweet disposition from both dam and sire. Don’t forget that she goes back to King P-234 a combined 15 times!! Jasmine is a keeper for us!
