Thanks Powell Ranch!

Born 5-4-19 ‘Ling’ is a FANCY and FLASHY palomino stallion with a big white blaze and three high white socks. We have chosen two movie themes this year to name our foals, one is Aladdin and the other is Mulan. Ling is one of the warriors who befriends Mulan and is the tallest of the trio and also happens to be a romantic.

Ling’s dam, Lily Dancer Reed JW aka Dancer, is one of our own JK Jay Reed aka Pine Cone daughters that we have kept.  This is her first foal with Walter O Rielly and WOW are we impressed! Dancer’s mother was one of our Mujer Tacky Jay daughters and really impressed us with the quality of foals she’s produced for us. We lost her in 2017 and are very thankful that her legacy can carry on through her daughters and granddaughters. There are a lot of great horses in Dancer’s pedigree from Jet Deck and Leo Tag just off her papers to other greats Three Bars, Poco Bueno and old-time horses like Old Sorrel. Dancer goes back to King P-234 a combined 15 times!! We really believe in these well-established horse families and in Dancer’s mare line as she is so closely bred to many of our great saddle horses. Her 2016 foal Paddys Gin Rallye JW went to be with buyers in Nebraska for their breeding program and her 2018 foal Whiskey Up Greece JW also went to a repeat buyer.

Ling’s sire is Walter O Rielly aka Radar.  He has become a great addition to our program, and this is his eighth foal crop for us. We were looking for a foundation Driftwood bred stallion to hopefully get some replacement fillies out of some of our better mares. Radar is a 90.234% foundation bred perlino stallion who goes to King P-234 ten times, to Driftwood four times with strong doses of Joe Reed, Three Bars and a little Doc Bar. Radar is a 16 hand horse with a huge stride and a gentle personality. He has excellent bone, athleticism and conformation. His lineage tells us that his offspring will have cow and will be capable of performing at any level.

Ling is the first cross from his dam and sire. We have seen Radar’s foals mature out to become tall horses with the ability to cover ground and carry speed as well. We personally ranch on one and have retained another for our personal ranching prospect. They are all gentle and easy-going horses. Ling’s dam tends to also put height on her foals and great dispositions. Ling should mature out to be a taller horse with a great willing attitude to do anything!
