 SOLD!
IN NORTH CAROLINA WITH REPEAT BUYER. Thanks Michael

Born 5-10-11.  Our kids are actively involved in helping with our cattle and horses and have a fair amount of input into names, training, which to keep and so on.  You will notice that we’ve used Star Wars names of some of our foals this year.  However, since his mama’s name is Charjody, her foals have fallen into the Pokemon ‘char’ name category.  In 2010 her colt was named Charmander Reed JW.  He went to Alabama and has now moved to North Carolina with his owner.  If you followed our website last year and liked the Charmander colt you will also really like ‘Charizard’ this year.

Charizard is a big colt that will probably shed out to a darker chestnut like his siblings.  He even has a star on his forehead that looks a little like the Charizard Pokemon horn.  He also has left rear white pastern.  His dam, Charjody, is a gorgeous 84% NFQHA  double bred Two Eyed Jack mare with him still on her papers.  She also goes back to Babe Cody by Bill Cody.  We have retained her 2008 daughter, Peponita Stareyed JW aka Bubbles for our program.  Bubbles was started and used on the ranch last fall and will be again this summer.  She has the makings of a very level headed mare that will eventually be one of those family ranch horses that ‘anybody’ can get along with.  Charizard’s sire is JK Jay Reed aka Pine Cone.  JK Jay Reed is a 96% foundation bred stallion with Poco Pine, Continental King by King P-234, Joe Reed II and Whiskey Bert all on his papers.  Pine Cone has King P-234 fairly close up and goes back to him six times.  Charizard is 90% NFQHA eligible and is bred to be an all round horse that will make one of those nice high dollar geldings.  He will be cowy, stout, able to cover country, catch a cow and hold a calf.  These pictures don’t show it really well, but we love how he moves in the pasture with a soft lope and level top and head down.  We just have the best time watching him.  His pedigree is with good dispositions all around.  He’s very vigorous and athletic as well as friendly.  The Pine Cone babies are born wanting to be your friend.  The young action pictures were when he was 2 days old.

UPDATE 4-27-13: Charizard joined his full brother in North Carolina last fall with a repeat buyer who has several of our horses. The second picture above was sent to us this spring. Thanks Michael....he's looking great!
